Our silly pumpkin patch

Gather a few things

Large paper and intact, age-rated chunky crayons.

Let’s play

1. A grown-up draws three large pumpkin outlines and a simple ground line.
2. Invite your toddler to add marks inside or around the pumpkins. Orange is optional!
3. Offer to draw a face following their choices: sleepy, surprised, or very silly.
4. Make up a name and a tiny story for each pumpkin.

A little learning to notice

Notice round shapes, different sizes, and the faces you invent.

Keep a little memory

Write the pumpkin family’s names and the date on the back.

Make it work for your child

Skip the outlines and enjoy orange-and-green marks. An older toddler can choose a different expression for each pumpkin.
