Gather a few things

A large stuffed animal and a lightweight open basket.

Let’s play

  1. Place Teddy in the basket and say, Teddy is in.
  2. Move Teddy out and describe the change.
  3. Offer your toddler a turn moving Teddy.
  4. Try beside the basket, then give Teddy a cuddle.

A little learning to notice

Follow your child’s action with one short sentence about where Teddy is.

Keep a little memory

Write down a new word, gesture, or silly hiding place you noticed.

Make it work for your child

Use just in and out at first. Gestures and watching count as participation.
