The picture-and-audio pairing can introduce words in familiar categories. Its most useful role is as a conversation starter: your response connects the word on the page with something your child knows.
Let your child choose a picture. After the audio, look for the real object, act it out, or add a short phrase. Try the other language together if it is meaningful to your family.
Let the play grow with them
Follow one or two favorite pictures first. Later, compare related items or talk about where you saw them. Listening to a recording is not the same as a back-and-forth conversation.
A no-shopping version
Point to objects in an ordinary picture book and talk, sign, or make sounds together.
